Fibroids

Fibroids are benign tumors of the uterus that arise from muscle cells and occur in many women over the course of life. They are not malignant but can – depending on their size and location – cause complaints such as heavy or irregular menstrual bleeding, pressure in the lower abdomen, pain, or unfulfilled desire for children.

At Seechirurgie Zurich, we offer individually tailored evaluation and treatment of fibroids. Using ultrasound and modern imaging, the exact position and extent can be determined. Therapy is based on symptoms, age, and desire for children of the patient – from medicinal measures to minimally invasive operations like fibroid removal (myomectomy) or, if necessary, uterus removal (hysterectomy).

The goal is to alleviate complaints, preserve the uterus as much as possible, and restore the woman’s quality of life.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a chronic, often painful disease in which tissue similar to the uterine lining (endometrium) grows outside the uterus – for example, on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, in the pelvic cavity, or on the bladder. This tissue reacts like the normal lining to hormonal changes and can cause inflammations, adhesions, and pain during menstruation.

At Seechirurgie Zurich, precise evaluation and individual treatment of endometriosis are performed. Typical symptoms are severe menstrual pain, pain during intercourse, chronic lower abdominal pain, or unfulfilled desire for children.
